Better start building an Ark…(& Metolius stuff)

So form time to time, I get the urge to go climbing. I’m not perfect, nor pure of heart. I’m selfish and self-concerned. Quite frequently, I like to go to some sunny little piece of rock and clip the bolts that defile the divine and perfect creation. I like to sit in the sun and pollute my body. Then I like to defy evolution and make a mockery of the human condition by climbing that which was created for no such purpose. In my vanity, I’ll remove my shirt so that my peers can see how (extremely) jacked and tanned I truly am. I’ll give the climb everything I have, physically and mentally, subconsciously simulating the much simpler struggles for which my being was truly created.

As of late, I have not been able to do this.

Is God smiting me (all of us)? Almost certainly.

Every time I check the local weather forecast lately, the prophecy is the same: rain indefinitely - FOREVER. Every time I look up at the sky and see a sliver of the warm and nurturing sun peeking through, I see dark and brooding closing in on the helpless sun, like some tyrannical force closing in on that last brave soldier. Whatever power that resides in the heavens above is peering down upon us with disdain, weeping pitifully for our lost souls… or maybe it’s global warming…or both.
